Dr. Hershberg created The Good Diet, a 3-phase weight loss system that will help you shed weight for good!

Phase 1 is the introductory phase. You will stay in this phase for a minimum of 2 weeks and then proceed into Phase 2 until you reach your goal. In Phase 2, starches are introduced in limited portions. Phase 3 is a long-term maintenance lifestyle where you will be taught to eat a wide variety of foods in balanced portions to maintain your goal weight.

During Phase 1, your diet will consist of high water foods and high protein foods. You will consume prepackaged shakes, soups and snacks in combination with fruit, vegetables, dairy/dairy substitutes, lean meats, chicken, and fish. Glycogen stores will be depleted and you will lose fat and excess water weight and should feel satiated as a result of the protein and volumetric nature of the food. You can expect to lose up to 10 pounds in the first 2 weeks.

You will consume 3 pre-packaged foods in Phase 1. Pre-packaged foods are optional in Phase 2 and Phase 3. When you order the Phase 1 Kit, you will receive the full protocol and 2 weeks worth of food.

It’s best that the diet be followed as outlined in order to achieve maximum success. A detailed list of foods and portions permitted are outlined in Phase 1, Phase 2, and Phase 3. A food journal is also provided so that you can track your daily intake and stay accountable.
